One of the hallmarks of being an adopted son or daughter of God is that we can hear what the Father is saying. The adopted children of God know the leading of the Holy Spirit. They have learned to listen to the promptings of the Spirit in all situations. How in practice do we hear God speak? This acrostic can help us:(STARS)

(S)- Is for Scriptures: The Father speaks first and foremost to us through His Word- The Bible

(T)- Is for Testimony. This is the inner witness of the Holy Spirit.

(A)- Is for Advice. The Father speaks to us through the Advice and wisdom of other believers in the church.

(R)- Is for Revelation. The Father communicates through prophets; phenomena such as Dreams; Visions; Pictures and so on.

(S)- Is for situations. Our Father, Abba often speaks to us through our circumstances.

Hearing the Father’s voice is an act we need to cultivate. If we belong to Him we will hear Him. God still speaks to us today. We need to learn the unique way in which He communicates and be more receptive to the whispering of His Spirit- so we can know better the mind of God in all things.  ~John 8:47
