Burdens come to us in a variety of forms- emotional, spiritual, physical, etc. But, they all feel heavy and cause weariness. Some of the loads we carry are not part of God’s plan for us. We lug around the guilt that lingers even after confession of our sins and we try to function even as we carry the worry into the future. Then we top it off with a little bitterness and unforgivingness and say life has not been fair to us. These burdens are not from the Lord, and He would not help us carry them. Other burdens are entrusted to us by God. Sometimes God allows relational difficulties that test our faith. We must remember that every circumstance in life is lovingly sifted through the Lord’s fingers, before reaching us. God never intends that we carry any problem without His help. He admonished us to give them to Him to carry for us. Casting our cares upon God means releasing them fully into His control. God will sustain us with His peace as we trust Him. – Psalm 55:22
