Scripture often uses the analogy of the shepherd to describe the Father ‘s relationship to His children. We are without direction. We are needy; but with the Lord as our shepherd there is absolutely nothing that we lack. We find rest and comfort in a loving Father who provides everything we need- perhaps not everything we want, but certainly everything we need. Even in our darkest valleys, He is there to take good care of us. The Lord is watching over us. His goodness and mercy are with us all the days of our lives. Our good shepherd speaks to us, “Do not be afraid, I will protect you. I go before you and I will bless you. You are precious and honored in my sight and I love you.” The Lord will never leave us, so let us open our hearts and allow the love of God to flow over and through us. In our lives’ journeys let us allow Him to lead us to find rest in Him. – Psalm 23:1
