Steadfastness and Faith

In Psalm 130:5-6, the Word wait(s) appears five times. In the Lord’s development of our personal faith, He often delays an answer to prayer to deepen our trust in Him. At times this can be perplexing. Asking for His intervention for healing of a painful illness or solving a problem often carries a sense of urgency. We pray, "Lord we need your help now!" But waiting on the Lord, takes discipline and develops a perseverance in our faith that only steadfastness can yield. We should always wait for answers to prayers or guidance from the Lord. Although we may not know the exact time when our wait will end, we should learn to wait expectantly. We must choose to trust God. The anticipation of God’s faithfulness gives hope to endure, even in the midst of our suffering. Based on the promises of God found throughout the Scripture that hope allows us to keep waiting for answers to our prayers. What prayers are you waiting for God to answer? In what ways might our Heavenly Father be developing your faith? Pray without ceasing! Do not give up! Wait on the Lord for your answers! — Psalm 130:5-6
