The only way to live the way Jesus called us to live is by His power. The life He challenges us to live, He more than exemplified Himself. When He lives in us, we are given His capacity for "millionth-mile" living. We are to be to each other what Christ has been to us. That is the test of a Christian. We are to love as we have been loved. Think of how Christ has loved us! His love is unchanging, unconditional, unqualified and unlimited. It is giving and forgiving. To what extent have we loved like this? Who in our lives needs that quality of love from us today? The distinguishing mark of a Christian is that he or she loves with the same power that Christ has loved him or her. By that love, the world will know that we are Christ’s disciples. What the Lord requires, He inspires. We are to be channels of His love. Our challenge is to allow Him to love us so we can love others. That is the exciting adventure of being a Christian. Let us not miss the radical challenge that Jesus has called us to do.
