From time to time we can be overwhelmed by a loss of energy. This can be due to doing too much at work or in ministry and failing to take proper rest. It can be due to mental exhaustion, brought on by grief or shame, despair, or discouragement. It can be due to moral failure and the consequent disconnection from the One who cannot look upon sin and yet who longs to give us all that we need, when we turn our faces back to Him. Whatever the reason, God our Heavenly Father is waiting. When we turn from looking down to looking up, from depending upon ourselves to relying upon Him, He energizes us in spirit, soul, and body. He gives us the motivation to spread our wings again and He lifts us up. Today if we need energy, let us ask God to fill us with His life-giving Spirit. Let His strength arise in our weakness so that we can run again and not grow tired.
