Unending Peace

We have heard and seen a lot about peace during the preparation for Christmas. The word has been artistically embossed on cards we have sent and received. We ache for peace on earth, in our relationships, and in our hearts. When we get in touch with the turbulence in our world and the anguish in people, or identify our own conflicts, we realize how much we need Christ’s peace. The very conditions in the world today heightens our longing for peace. What men and women cannot produce, only Christ can give. Christ came to establish the peace of forgiveness
and reconciliation. Peace of soul comes only through accepting His love and forgiveness through Calvary. Then we can know the peace of trusting Him with our daily needs. Peace is righteousness-right relationship with God, ourselves, and others. It is a cleansed conscience and a future surrendered to Jesus Christ. Why is there so little peace? How can we give up the broken pieces of our lives and allow the Christmas Christ to give us the unbreakable peace? Christ does not give peace; He is our peace. When He lives in us as Lord of all, there is peace.
