Of all the lessons we can learn from Jesus, none is more practical than what we gain from His example:
* Jesus did not simply say a prayer, but He earnestly communed with His Father and enjoyed unbroken two-way conversation with the Almighty.
* Jesus rose early to spend “a long time" with God the Father. Can we afford to do any less?
* We are not to determine the agenda for our lives, God should. Our world is filled with needs, and we can only meet those needs by doing whatever God directs us to do.
Prayer allows us to discern God’s will and to avoid distractions that divert us from His activity. Jesus Himself showed us the priority that prayer needs to be in our lives. We must follow the guidelines He mirrored for us.
