Christmas can be a difficult time for those who are weighed down by circumstances: work, stressful family situations, or personal loss. However, we need to remind ourselves of the beautiful Christmas message that Jesus Christ came into the world to uplift us all. Jesus used Isaiah’s words to announce His God-given mission on earth—”proclaim good news to the poor, proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free” (Luke 4:18). Jesus came to lift our burdens so we can raise our eyes to welcome Him into our lives as Lord and Savior. Let us release our burdens to His tender, loving care and trust Him to take care of us. To find real joy at Christmas, we must look up to Jesus! — Luke 4:18.
