The Christmas Promise

The Lord is faithful. His promises are assured. God's promises not only come true but also anchor us. Through Jesus Christ, we have access to the very heart of God. God never leaves us alone; He is always near. There is no situation, circumstance, or problem, which is too big for our God. The Christmas present to be opened every day of the year is written in God's Word “Lo, I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20). We may have great uncertainties, but we have a great Christ for any of our hesitations. After Christmas, we can strive into a New Year knowing that problems are but the prelude to a new intervention from our Heavenly Father. There will be a decisive moment when God gives us what we need to do more than cope. Our God has unlimited resources, wisdom, and spiritual power that He releases at just the right moment. As such, we can let go of our worries—hang up on yesterday's troubles, today's anxieties, and tomorrow's fears. We should not let Christmas come and go without experiencing the release from life's tensions. Our hope is built on our Lord's faithfulness. God is with us now: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel (which means, God with us)” (Matthew 1:23). Let us trust God and expectantly anticipate that at the right time and in the way that is most beneficial to us, He will intervene and infuse us with precisely what we need. Isn't the Chrisitan life such an exciting way to live? The celebration of Christmas should be a reminder that Jesus came to save us, He continues to keep us, and He is coming again to grant Believers (those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior) eternal life. “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.” — Hebrews 6:19
