Free From Fear

Fear sneaks into our hearts, painting a picture of helplessness and hopelessness. It steals our peace and concentration. What makes you fearful? Perhaps, you are concerned about your family, health, or maybe a broken relationship. Fear turns our focus inwards and reveals a heart that sometimes finds it hard to trust. When these fears and worries strike, it is good to read David's prayer in Psalm 34:4, “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.” How does God deliver us from all our fears? When we look to Him and focus on Him, our worries fade, as we trust Him to be in control. We should trust the One who protects us and delivers us. We can take refuge in God because He is always true and faithful. The awe of His goodness and faithfulness should put our fears into perspective. When we remember who God is and how much He loves us, we can relax into His peace. “Those who fear Him lack nothing” (Psalm 34:9). How wonderful it is to know that we can be delivered from our fears. — Psalm 34:4
