God supplied manna to the Israelites each morning, except on the Sabbath (where the day before, they were allowed to store twice the daily amount). God certainly could have provided weekly or even monthly amounts of manna, then the Israelites could have saved time and energy by collecting it less often. But God chose to supply the food daily. God's provision now as then is daily, so we continuously remember our dependence on Him. Every day we must rely on Him to meet our needs, both physical and spiritual, no matter how large or small. We must regularly seek provision from God, who perfectly provides for our needs. — Exodus 16:21
