“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. What do righteousness and wickedness have in common, or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever…For we are the temple of the living God” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18). This Scripture passage urges us to be pure and undiluted by the world. It tells us to escape sinful things and not be separated from God. We are not to have anything to do with sinful things because righteousness and unrighteousness do not belong together. Our lives become weak and ineffective when we allow worldliness to come into them. There is so much pressure to act, talk and think like the world. If we are not careful, we will forget that we belong to Jesus and should live to please Him. When Christians allow the world to dilute our testimony, it pollutes our effectiveness. Let us not allow selfishness, impure thoughts, foul language, worldly desires, etc., to weaken our testimony. Let us remember never to pollute our lives with unclean things and always ask God to keep us faithful to Him. — 2 Corinthians 6:14
