Authentic Faith

Authentic faith is the work of the Holy Spirit in us. The Spirit alerts us to the emptiness inside our souls, creates a hunger for truth, empowers the communication of the gospel to us, and gives us the power to respond. Authentic Faith is the Spirit’s power in us, releasing us to surrender our mind, soul, and will to God.
We need to acknowledge God’s control over all our affairs. There is only one way to the heart of God: Faith in Christ, as Eternal Lord and Savior. That truth is hard for many of us to swallow before and after becoming Christians. There is a lingering desire to be accepted for something we are or have done. But righteousness by faith alone is God’s way and the only way.
The quality of faith given to us in the beginning is to believe in God, and the unique gift of faith after we become Christians is to trust God with situations, circumstances, people, and impossibilities. Faith, as the gift of the Holy Spirit, is the capacity to dare to believe that all things are possible in God’s will. We should pray for and thank God in advance for the said possibilities. The authentic faith gift gives us a daring, all-stops-out boldness to expect and witness miracles. – Romans 3:27
