The words of Psalm 130:3 often come to mind, “If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?” We should be elated that our awesome God is forgiving. It is because of God’s mercies that we are not consumed. We rely upon His grace when we receive Christ. Our Heavenly Father’s acceptance of us is just the beginning of the goodness and favor He showers upon us. We need to acknowledge and appreciate His kindly forbearance in forgiving us repeatedly. What a loving God we serve: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” Lamentations 3:22-23.
