As we go through life, we are constantly changing and evolving. The challenges we face, our experiences, and the people we surround ourselves with all contribute to our growth and transformation. The Bible speaks of this idea of transformation in Matthew 9:17, when Jesus says, “Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined.” What does this mean for us in our daily lives? It means that we must be willing to let go of our old ways of thinking and doing things to make room for new growth and opportunities. We must embrace the new wine life offers and allow ourselves to be poured into new wineskins. As we embrace our transformation in Christ, let us hold on to the words of 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” May we be transformed into the persons God has created us to be. — Matthew 9:17; 2 Corinthians 5:17
