“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118:24). These words remind us of God’s control over everything and His invitation to celebrate each day as a precious gift from Him.
This verse from Psalm 118 encourages us to be joyful and thankful. The psalm was likely sung during major festivals in Israel to celebrate God’s deliverance and steadfast love and to call God’s people to recognize His mighty works and rejoice in His faithfulness.
Every day is created by God, and He reigns over each moment. Our happiness comes from God, not from fleeting circumstances. By focusing on God’s blessings, our hearts are lifted above our worries and fears.
Prayer for Rejoicing in the Lord’s Day:
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this new day that You have given us. Please help us to be happy and grateful in it, no matter what challenges or uncertainties we may face. Fill our hearts with gratitude and help us see Your blessings. May Your joy strengthen us and Your peace fill us as we go about our day. Teach us to trust in Your sovereignty and to find comfort in Your unfailing love.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
