As believers, we think of Jesus as our Lord and Savior, King or Master, but rarely do we think of Him as our close friend. Once we can grasp what kind of companion He is, we will realize that a truly joyful life is possible only through a friendship with Him. Jesus offers us unconditional acceptance, which means we can always approach Him even with our sin baggage. He does not intend to leave us in our present state, as we are accepted no matter what is happening in our lives. He walks through trials with us, because of His promise never to leave us or forsake us. He is our consistent encourager and faithful friend during both the good and dark times of our lives. Jesus never sleeps or slumber and is never too busy to meet our needs or respond to our prayers. He loves to hear from us. Whatever our needs will be met with His consistent assurance that He loves us, has a plan for us and will rescue us if necessary. He speaks to us through the Scriptures. In the "Word" we will find His answer to every circumstance we may face. What a friend we have in Jesus! Make Him your best-friend from today. John 15:9; Hebrew 13:5
