One of the hardest things to cope with as Christians is what we consider “the delays of God”. When we pray earnestly about a situation in our lives, we hope and believe God will answer as soon as possible. In some cases we find that God answers immediately and powerfully, even to the point where we can say, “Before we even called He answered”. But then there are times where the opposite seems to happen and we see a situation where there is seemingly no answer to prayer.
Finally there are situations where the Father does grant us our heartfelt requests, but it takes much longer to happen than we expected or wanted. It seems that when we pray for a supernatural intervention of God there are at least three possible responses: “Yes,” No”, and “Later”. If the Father has made a promise that you have not yet seen fulfilled, do not lose heart. I know the delay of God can be the occasion of much concern and many tears, but hang on in there, keep trusting, keep praying and keep on believing God, even though you do not yet see what you long for. Understand that help is on the way. It is just a matter of time. Ask God to help you persevere during the Wait. ~John 11:5-6
