Many things can distance us from God, but the only answer for the great thirst, we feel as a result is in searching and finding a place to again meet with God and drink in our fellowship with Him. The Psalmist compared physical thirst with spiritual thirst. As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. His thirst was that of a desperate longing for God – the one and only living God. Do you long for something this world can not provide? This dissatisfaction is a thirst of the soul for God. Run to the one who alone can quench that thirst. He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. ~Psalm 42:1; Psalm 107:9
