What is it that God wants from us? We have a Bible filled with God's commandments, principles, and instructions for godly living. Matthew 22:37 drills down God's commandments to us as “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” God wants more than external conformity to His commandments. God gave us free will so that our obedience stems from love and not through force. Obedience to God's Word is simply a gauge of our love. We must strive to know God better. We need to realize that a relationship with God is His desire for our lives. So, as God's children, let us flee from anything that draws us away from loving our Heavenly Father. Remember, the closer we are to God, the more detestable evil will be. God wants our hearts, and He wants us to enjoy our time with Him in reflection and through prayer. –Deuteronomy 6:5.
