Being Fruitful

Christianity is not a religion. Christianity is God’s search for man. Religion is man’s effort to find God. The essence of Christianity is Christ: life in Him, and He in us. The Lord who declares that He is the way, the truth and the life, He is the One who points the way to the narrow gate to eternal life. What does He mean? We find the answer in His cross and challenge that we take up our cross too. The cross is the narrow gate. It is the only way to know Him, to live for ever, and to live now in profound happiness. Let us reflect on the words, “I go to prepare a place for you". Where did He go to prepare that place? Golgotha! The cross was where our eternal life was won. And there is no other way for us to go but through Him and what He did for us. No one goes to the Father, to Heaven, or to present joy except through Jesus Christ. Not through good works, moral achievement or human accomplishments. There are not many roads that lead to God. There is only one road with a narrow gate. But it is the way that God comes to us, not just the way we come to God. Christ is God’s way to man. — Matthew 7:13-14; John 14:1-6
