In a world with shifting standards, the answer is found in one unchanging standard—God’s Word—the BIBLE. David ruled over a kingdom and tried to do the right thing. However, he also realized how easy it is to slide down the slippery path of unethical behavior because it seemed advantageous or fulfilled a selfish desire. David asked God to teach him, to give him understanding so that he may know God’s testimonies (Psalm119:124-125). No one is born perfect, but by the redemptive sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ, we are saved (Romans 3:23-26). Jesus is our light in turbulent times. The closer we walk with God, the clearer we see His guidance. By studying God’s Word and listening to the Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence, we can reassure ourselves that in our darkest times, He is our light and our salvation! — Psalm 119:125
