Cherishing God

Remembering God means putting Him first; making an effort to focus on Him; feeding on His Word, seeking His guidance in daily decisions, and following His ways. Forgetting God is evident in the absence of such actions. Easy times bring the temptation to forget our dependence on God. In contrast, times of stress and hardship remind us of our utter reliance on Him. The wise never cease to rely on God in times of prosperity or in times of pain. Here is a prayer of remembrance:
“Give us enough trials to keep us strong
Enough tears to keep us tender
Enough hurts to keep us humane
Enough failures to keep us humble
And enough Faith to keep us confident in God
O Lord, our Rock and our
Redeemer.” — Isaiah 17:10-11
