Christ the Anchor

The Lord is faithful. His promises are sure. We have the promises of Christ to anchor us. Through Christ we have access into the very heart of God and we can never drift off the solid anchor of care. We are never alone. There is no solution, circumstance or problem which is too big for our Lord. That is the tonic we need to fire our blood and give us courage. The Christmas present to be opened every day of the year is written in God’s own hands: ” Lo I will be with you always”. We have great uncertainties but we have a great Christ for our uncertainties. After Christmas, we can strive into a new year knowing that problems are but the prelude to a fresh intervention by the invading Lord. There will be that decisive moment when He will come. When He comes, He will give us what we need to do more than cope. He has unlimited resources of people , unexpected surprises, wisdom and spiritual power to release at just the right moment. We should let go our worried grip on life. If we hang on to yesterday’s troubles, tomorrow’s fears, and today’s anxieties, we will overload, and “blow the circuit. This Christmas season let us identify our deepest needs and surrender them to our Lord. We must not allow Christmas to come and go without an experience of the release of the tension. Our hope is built on our Lord’s faithfulness. He is always there with us. The celebration of Christmas is setting our anchors on the faithfulness of the Lord. He came, comes and is coming- what an exciting way to live! Trust Him! ~Hebrews 6:19
