God's Word clearly instructs us to be humble. And that is good because, as fallible human beings, we have so very much to be modest about! As Christians, we have been refashioned and saved by Jesus Christ, and that Salvation came not because of our good works but because of God's Grace. How then can we be prideful? The answer, of course, is that if we are honest with ourselves and with our God, we cannot be boastful. We must, instead, be eternally grateful and exceedingly humble. The good things, everything in our lives, come from God. All our gifts and possessions come from God—the Giver of all things good. So let us not be boastful but give all the glory to God. — Philippians 2:3
