Because we are imperfect human beings, we may become so wrapped up in meeting society’s expectations, that we fail to focus on God’s expectations. Instead we must seek God’s guidance, as we focus our energies on becoming the best “US” we can possibly be. When it comes to matters of conscience, we need to seek approval not from our peers, but from our Creator. Whom shall we try to please today: God or Man? Our primary obligation is not to please imperfect men and women. Our obligation is to strive diligently to meet the expectations of an all-knowing and perfect God. Trust Him Always. Love Him Always. Praise Him Always. And Make Choices that please Him Always. The location of our affection will drive the direction of our choices. Today, let us choose to please Him and Him Only. Let us obey His Commandments and praise Him for all His gifts, for His love, and for His Son. — Deuteronomy 30:19-20
