The Lord is faithful. His promises are sure. The promises of Christ not only come true, but also anchor us. Through Christ we have access to the very heart of God and we can never drift off the solid anchor of His care. We are never alone. There is no situation, circumstance or problem which is too big for our Lord. That is the tonic we need to fire our blood and give us courage. The Christmas present to be opened every day of the year is written in the Lord’s own hand, “Lo I will be with you always". We have great uncertainties, but we have a great Christ for our uncertainties. After Christmas, we can strive into a New Year knowing that problems are, just, the prelude to a fresh intervention. There will be that decisive moment when He will come to give us what we need, to do more than cope. He has unlimited resources, people, surprises, wisdom, spiritual power, etc. to release at just the right moment. We can let go of our worried grip on life. Let us not hang on to yesterday’s troubles, tomorrow’s fears or today’s anxieties. We should not let Christmas come and go without an experience of release from the tension. Our hope is built on our Lord’s faithfulness. He is there with us now. Let us trust Him. And then expectantly anticipate that at the right time and in the way that is most pertained to us, He will intervene and infuse us with exactly what we need. What an exciting way to live! The celebration of Christmas is setting an anchor in the faithfulness of the Lord. He came, comes, and He is coming again – Hebrews 6:19
