The beautiful Words of John 14:27 gives us hope. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you”. Jesus offers us peace, not as the world gives, but as He alone gives. We as believers, can accept His peace or ignore it. When we accept the peace of Jesus Christ in our hearts, our lives are transformed. And since we possess the gift of peace, we can share that gift with fellow Christians, family members, friends and associates. If on the other hand, we choose to ignore the gift of peace- for whatever reason- we cannot share what we do not possess. As we all know, peace can be a scarce commodity in a demanding 21st century world. How then can we find the peace that we so desperately desire? By turning our days and our lives over to God. If we surrender our lives to God, all is well, but let us not grab it back as though it were in peril in His hand. Let us give our lives, our hopes and our prayers to the Lord, and by doing so accept His will and His peace. Sometimes we are distracted by busyness of the day or the demands of the moment that when we are worried or anxious we fail to turn our thoughts back to Him. When we are feeling breathless with anxiety, we can rest assured in Jesus’s power. Whether He calms our waves or He strengthens us to face them, He will give us the gift of His peace that transcends all understanding (Philippians 4:7). And as He releases us from our fears, our spirits and our bodies can return to a state of rest. The Lord releases us from fears by giving us His peace! 0 Isaiah 26:3
