FORGIVENESS

Forgiving past hurts can be incredibly challenging, but it is also one of the most liberating things we can do for ourselves. Holding onto grudges and resentment can weigh us down and prevent us from moving forward. However, when we forgive, we open the door to healing and freedom.

One of the Bible's most potent examples of forgiveness is the story of Joseph and his brothers. Despite being sold into slavery by his siblings, Joseph forgave them and even helped them during a time of famine. In Genesis 50:20, he says, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” Joseph's statement is a powerful reminder that God can turn hurt for good.

If you are struggling to forgive someone who has hurt you in the past, I encourage you to pray for strength and the courage to do so. Forgiveness is not about excusing someone's behavior or pretending everything is okay. It is about releasing the hurt's hold on our lives and trusting God.

So today, let's forgive and let go of any past hurts weighing us down. Let's trust in God's plan and find freedom in forgiveness. — Genesis 50:20
