Far from being an obstacle to our spiritual growth, pain can be the means for greater growth by pushing us closer to God and deeper into His Word. It can be a means by which God graciously shapes us to be like His Son, gradually giving us our much longed for and prayed for compassion, contentment, tranquility, and courage. Without pain, we may not be all that God wants us to be. He never promised us that we would not suffer, but He assures us that His strength shines brightest through human weakness. If we have to go through trials, let us endure it, as God can turn those trials into blessings. He can also use it to draw us close to His Heart and into His Word, teach us the lesson He intends for us to learn, and use it to bestow His Grace on us. — Psalm 119:71; 1 Peter 4:1-3
