Praying is not an event or a ceremony; it is a way of being in contact with God. The development of a personal and close relationship with God begins when we view prayerfulness as a way of life. The Bible encourages us to start each day by lifting our voice to God (Psalm 5:3); to bow down to God in reverence (Psalm 5:7); to fill our day with conversations with God (Psalm 55:17); to give ourselves totally to prayer (Psalm 108:4). We must devote ourselves to prayer as a way of life because we desire to be with God (Psalms 42:1-4; 84:1-2; 130:5-6). Prayer is our way of connecting with God in all of life’s circumstances. God is always listening. We can and should talk to Him any time throughout the day. In prayer, God hears more than our words; He listens to our hearts. — Psalm 5:7
