God will reveal to us what to do

As Christians, we are blessed to have an omniscient and omnipotent Heavenly Father who makes His ways known to us. He reveals to us what to do in every situation, and promises this: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you with my eyes upon you” (Psalm 32:8). Let us explore how to discern God’s will at each crossroad of life. The first step is to make sure we have repented of all known sins in our life. Our God is Holy and cannot tolerate sin. Attempting to hear God’s promptings while holding to iniquity is like trying to use a foggy and unreadable compass. After confessing and repenting, we can ask for directions by reading scriptures regularly with a seeking and open heart. The Bible is a lamp to our path (Psalm 119:105). The last step involves God’s indwelling Holy Spirit—the incredible gift our Father has given each of us His children. The Holy Spirit provides truth and guidance as we read the Word and pray. We should listen patiently for the Spirit’s leading as we spend time with the Father. When asking the Lord to reveal His will, we should not expect instant answers. The discipline of waiting builds up our character. Let us take the time to seek God’s plan for our lives, remembering He will provide all we need if we follow Him. — 1 John 5:14-15
