Distance is no detriment to the power of prayer. Jesus did not have to travel the distance to touch the fevered son to heal him physically. This characteristic of prayer is a magnificent promise that remains true today. We also do not have to be physically present with the people we pray for. The same Lord who motivates our prayers is also there with the people for whom we pray. Geography makes no difference in the prayer of faith. We can pray and know that God is at work. When we pray in faith, we can thank God that He has heard and be assured that He will answer our prayers, according to His will, and in a way that will bring the ultimate good. Our job is to pray in faith and wait for our Heavenly Father's intervention. Today, let us live in the liberating assurance that God has heard our prayers and is active in answering in the best way. We will “go our way,” leaving the matter in God's hands. — John 4:50
