Jesus uttered a number of sayings beginning with the phrase “I AM”. In John 10:7-9 He says, “I am the gate.” By this, He meant that He is the One through whom we find Salvation for our souls. He is the Entrance, the Portal, the Gateway into the presence of God the Father. Jesus says He is the Gate not a Gate. In a world of religious pluralism, where people believe there are many ways to God, Jesus makes an exclusive claim. He resists the idea of plurality, and emphasizes singularity. He says, He alone is the gate. We are not destined to be cooped up in a place of restrictions. We are meant to love and thrive in the spacious place of the Father’s love. If you have never gone through the door, through the portal of Salvation, why not go through it today, by accepting Jesus as your Savior. If you have, enjoy the open field that is the all sufficient and sustaining presence of God’s love and help lead others to the "Door that opens out into a landscape of Hope". — John 10:19
