Psalm 121 begins, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from?” The answer follows, “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Our Creator is not an aloof God, but a companion who is always with us, always awake to our circumstances (vv3-7), guiding and guarding our journey through life. Along life’s path, we need to keep our eyes fixed on God, our source of help. When we feel overwhelmed and discouraged, it is alright to say aloud, “We shall keep our eyes on God, our forever helpful source.”
