Love and Action

The Good Samaritan described in Luke 10 expressed practical love. He did not just give pious words of comfort. Instead, he helped the injured man change his painful condition and got him the help he needed. Essentially, His love for others got him involved. Remember, words of love are reasonable involvement costs.
God got involved in the suffering of the world. Christ paid the price through His sacrifice on the cross. God took our sorrows on Himself and suffered for us. When was the last time you were inconvenienced because of the need for someone else? When have you set your plans aside to spend time with someone in need? The Good Samaritan gave all he had! Can we do that?
Many of the major problems which face us today need practical help. We can show love as we help the people in our lives through their problems. Love involves commitment and prayers. Let us embrace this kind of love. — Luke 10:29
