Every so often we are confronted by what Jesus describes as mountains. A mountain is anything that masquerades as an impossible situation in our lives. It blocks our paths to the future and its shadow looms over every thing we do. Seen in this light, a mountain could be any number of seemingly invincible obstacles; life threatening illness; lack of finance; relentless opposition—just to name a few. How are we to respond to such large and seemingly immovable problems? Jesus tells us to confront these difficult situations with the confidence that nothing is too hard for our God. Instead of being burdened by how big our problems are, tell the mountain how big our God is! Let us speak to the mountain with certainty. Let us tell the mountain “you may be great, but our God is greater!” Sooner or later that mountain is going to shift and move. Remember the word impossible is not in heaven’s dictionary! — Mark 11:22-23
