New Wine in Old Bags

In life, we often find ourselves wanting to move forward and grow, but sometimes we are held back by old habits, patterns, and beliefs. It's like pouring new, fresh wine into old, worn-out bags—it just won't work. However, the Bible offers us guidance and encouragement to overcome this challenge.

In Matthew 9:17, Jesus tells his disciples that new wine should be put into new wineskins to preserve both. As we grow and change, we must let go of old ways of thinking and doing things and embrace new ways.

So, when we feel stuck or held back, we need to pray to God and ask the Holy Spirit, the Great Counselor, for guidance and help in reaching our fullest potential. With God's help, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). — Matthew 9:17; 2; Matthew 19:26
