Hope can be defined as the desire for something good and the expectation of receiving it. Jesus Christ is the only genuine source of hope because He alone knows what is best and also has the Sovereignty and Power to secure its fulfillment. Christ promises us the “living hope” of an imperishable inheritance in heaven. Heaven can seem far away when pain is present, and it seems there is no relief in sight. So how do we endure? The answer is through hope, which foresees a change of circumstances for the better through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Christ blesses us with the hope that at all times and in all things, He is doing more extraordinary work within us. So hold on in faith that manifests in praise and glory of our loving Savior’s birth, resurrection, and ultimate return. — 1 Peter 1:3-4
