Being patient with other people can be difficult. But sometimes, we find it even more difficult to be patient with ourselves. We have high expectations and lofty goals. We want to accomplish things now, not later. We want our lives to unfold according to our timetables. Throughout the Bible, we are instructed that patience is the companion of wisdom. God’s message is clear. We must be patient with everyone, beginning with the person who stares back at us when we gaze into the mirror. In times of uncertainty, wait and pray. Let us not force ourselves/our way into the wrong action. When you feel a restraint in your spirit, do not go against it. When we fall short, let us be patient, as God has been patient with us. –2 Peter 1:6
