Is there such a thing as purposeful anxiety? Indeed there is! We ought to be focused and concerned about living under God’s guidance rather than about things that ultimately do not count. We take for granted the wondrous love of our Heavenly Father and neglect our election as His beloved sons and daughters. We treat God like an adjunct to our life. We relegate prayers for crises and think of God only when we are pressed and facing self-insurmountable dilemmas.
Unbeknownst, these life pressures and anxieties ensue from separation from God. This type of fear tells us something is amiss/out of joint. The uneasiness is purposeful anxiety that presses and nudges us back to God. So let us ask ourselves this question—should we live this way? No, we need to have God at the very center of our lives, living purposefully according to His will and plans for our lives.
So, if we have gone adrift of God’s plan, let us not delay returning to our gracious Father. Like the parable of the lost son in Luke 15, the Father is waiting with open arms. — Luke 15:24
