Salvation is not an event; it is a process. Salvation is God's gift, for there is nothing we can do to save ourselves (Ephesians 2:8-9). Through salvation, God gave us victory over sin. When we become Christian, God makes us a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). God wants to continually build new things into our lives as we walk with Him. Salvation gives us access to God's boundless joy. God wants us to repent of our sins, yield our lives to Him, and follow His leading. God will not force the changes on us, but we can join Him in the process of developing our lives so that we demonstrate His salvation fully. — Philippians 2:12-13
