There are times when the only comfort left for us is a word from God. The Word of God will guide us because the Scriptures assure us that God is always in control. When events around us confuse us, when those around us abandon us, when we are misunderstood, when we are criticized, when things we place our trust in fail us, or when our devotion is put to the test, we must turn to the Scriptures to guide and comfort us. We must never make the faithfulness of others determine what we do. Let us turn to the Scriptures and allow them to reorient us to God. Let us immerse ourselves daily in the Word of God so that we are not caught off guard. When crises come, our focus will already be on God, and He will safely guide us through our difficult moments. — Mark 14: 49-50
