As we consider the uncertainties of the future, we are confronted with a powerful temptation, the temptation to play it safe. Unwilling to move mountains, we fret over molehills. Unwilling to entertain great hopes for tomorrow, we focus on the unfairness of today. Unwilling to trust God completely, we take timid half- steps, when God intends that we make giant leaps. Today let us ask God for the courage to step beyond the boundaries of our doubts. We must ask Him to guide us to a place where we can realize His full potential – a place where we are freed from the fear of failure. Ask Him to do His part, and we promise Him we will do our part. Let us not ask God to lead us to a “safe “place, but ask Him to lead us to the “right” place…..and remember those two places are seldom the same. Let us be totally committed to God’s kingdom’s work even if it involves risk, but we should take sensible risks in the service to God. ~Genesis 18:14
