Some things change, and some things do not. Our world is in constant flux. Our God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. At times, the world seems to be trembling beneath our feet. But we can be comforted in the knowledge that our Heavenly Father is the Rock that cannot be shaken. His Word promises, “I am the Lord, I do not change“ (Malachi 3:6). Every day, we encounter many changes, some good, some not so good, and some downright disheartening.
On those occasions when we must endure losses that leave us breathless, there is a place we can turn for comfort and assurance—we can turn to God. When we do, our loving Heavenly Father stands ready to protect us, comforts us, guides us, and in time heals us. In a world kept chaotic by change, we will eventually discover that this is one of the most precious qualities of God we should look to, that is, that our God does not change! He is our forever, stable anchor and refuge. — Hebrews 13:8
