At times, righteous living can seem unattainable. The good news is that we have the accounts of a wide range of godly men and women throughout history that provide powerful testimony to God's faithfulness as well as to the wisdom of staying faithful. People have faced every manner of persecution, opposition, tragedy, crisis, temptation, and disappointment yet remained loyal. We can do the same! Life is a journey, with every person moving towards a final destination. However, there are sins/things that can cause us to stumble. Therefore, we must be diligent so that we do not become so entangled in worldly cares that we are no longer advancing with Christ. One of the purposes of Scripture is to encourage us. The Bible provides concrete evidence that God strengthens, comforts, and guides His people during hard times. “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” — Hebrews 12:1.
