Jesus was acutely aware that His Father in Heaven had given him a unique assignment. We, too, each of us, have a special mission given to us by our Heavenly Father. We are called to discover this unique plan for our lives. Sometimes, the work/calling is something we can embrace within our paid work and everyday life. Sometimes, it may be beyond that. For instance, it may be a calling to the ministry or missionary work. Whatever the Father’s assignment is, the important thing is to embrace our mandate and complete it. Finishing well should be a primary objective in our lives. The saying goes that “the world is full of good starters but not as full of good finishers.” Let us ask today for greater revelation concerning our unique assignment and the motivation to finish it well. — John 5:36
