Unholy Alliances

We Christians are not always aware of how radically different our lives should be from the world around us. We are different, and we should be diligent to remain so. After all, darkness and light do not mix. Good cannot be combined with evil and still remain good. Righteousness and sin simply cannot coexist. Paul’s warning not to be “unequally yoked together with unbelievers” was his way of warning believers to not be too closely entwined with non-believers. So we should be careful whom we choose to get closest to. Our relationship with God must be unrivaled, unequaled, and unadulterated. We need to be aware of unholy allegiances that may draw us away from God. Paul’s warning is not a call to be isolated from the world, but to be consecrated unto God. — 2 Corinthians 6:14
