The beautiful words of 1 Corinthians 13 remind us that love is an important commandment. Faith is important, of course. So, too is Hope. We are commanded (not advised, not encouraged…commanded) to love one another, just as Christ loved us (John 13:34). That is a tall order, but as Christians, we are obligated to follow it. Christ showed His love for us on the cross, and we are called upon to return Christ’s love by sharing it with others. Today, let us spread Christ’s love to family members, friends, and even strangers, so that through us, others might come to know Him. There are only two duties required of us—the Love of God and the Love of our neighbor, and the surest sign of discovering whether we are observing these duties is the Love of our neighbor. Love is God’s commandment. Let us always remember that the gift of Love is a precious gift indeed. –1 Corinthians 13:13
